Treatment for concrete floors

If the first tested area of concrete is not anti-slip after being treated normally, carry out the following:
  • Wet the area to be treated.
  • Treat the surface with diluted hydrochloric acid (max. 10%) mixed with water at a ratio of 1:3 (1 part hydrochloric acid to 3 parts water).
  • Leave this solution on the surface to take effect for 20 - 25 minutes.
  • Remove the solution with a water vacuum cleaner and rinse the surface with clean water.
Next, test the surface again following the standard instructions for creating an anti-slip floor.

Note:
For a better result, hot water should be used for steps 1 and 3.
The surface may show a white haze after being treated with hydrochloric acid, but it will return to its original colour after 3 - 4 weeks (this is called the "whitening effect").
